Full Time Experienced Motorcycle Service Technician

An individual employed as a Service Technician at the House of Harley-Davidson will be required to perform a variety of tasks within the Service department both alone and in groups. Tasks may include, but are not limited to, repairing customers’ motorcycles accurately and efficiently, communicating with service writers, and setting up new motorcycles. Additional work duties and tasks may be assigned as needed. This individual will be required to perform the stated work tasks at the House of Harley-Davidson as well as occasionally working outdoor booths or off-site locations during events. These tasks will occasionally require extended work hours and work occurring on weekends. Individuals that do not perform work tasks satisfactorily will be addressed according to current Company policy, which may include disciplinary action up to and including discharge.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. 1. Perform visual inspection of each motorcycle before starting and after completing work.

2. Perform thorough and accurate repairs within time constraints, and in accordance to factory specifications and House of Harley Davidson requirements.

3. Maintain communication with service writers, notifying them of additional time or work needed to complete the scheduled repairs.

4. Receive and follow instruction from service writers on each job, including repairs to be completed, troubleshooting information, and constraints.

5. Keep accurate record of time taken on all aspects of repair work using a time clock.

6. Coordinate with parts department and service writers so that parts and motorcycle for next job are ready when current job is completed.

7. Consult with service writers to assist in accurately troubleshooting customer vehicles.

8. Test ride repaired vehicles to ensure road-readiness.

9. Treat customer property with care and respect, returning each vehicle cleaner than it was received.

10. Explain work completed by writing accurate, complete, and legible notes on each work order.

11. Keep work area clean and uncluttered to ensure safety.

12. Work and come in contact with substances associated with the operation, maintenance, and cleaning of motorcycles.

13. Complete all required H-D training programs, which provide technical updates.

14. Represent The House of Harley Davidson in a positive manner at all times when dealing with customers, co-workers, and the public.

Qualification Requirements
An individual must fulfill and maintain, in good standing, the following qualifications. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required to perform this job satisfactorily.

Required:

1. Currently Possesses Expert Service Technician, Master Service Technician or Master of Service Technology Recognition from Harley-Davidson
2. High level of H-D specific mechanical knowledge, diagnostic skills, and repair ability.
3. 5+ Years of Harley-Davidson Dealer Experience
4. Engine Building and Dyno Tuning Experience
5. Can work independently without direct supervision
6. Willingness to support less experienced technicians with diagnosis and repair
7. Will represent the dealership in the highest professional manner.

Preferred:

1. Demonstrate above average written and verbal communication skills.
2. Demonstrate knowledge of applicable tools, equipment and machinery.
3. Read and understand work orders for each repair, including time and money constraints.
4. Possess a complete set of tools required to diagnose and service Harley-Davidson and Buell motorcycles.
5. Follow written and verbal directions and provide information to co-workers and supervisors in written and verbal form.
6. Read and understand company policies in order to make well-informed decisions pertaining to customer service and business operations.
7. Maintain valid motorcycle license and the ability to safely ride customer vehicles.

Physical Demands

1. Be able to balance and push a 600+ pound motorcycle in a confined area.

2. Be able to use and manipulate mechanics tools and motorcycle repair equipment including but not limited to lifts, jacks, tire machines, and hoists.

3. Be able to occasionally lift and carry 55 LBS. Motorcycle wheels are transferred from elevations ranging from ground level to five (5) feet to a final location height between ground level and five (5) feet.

4. Be able to occasionally reach to a height of 7 ½ feet. The highest racks contain products up to 7 ½ feet high.

5. Be able to continuously work indoors in conditions (noise, lighting, temperature) consistent with auto/motorcycle shop work.

6. Be able to continuously sit, walk, or stand.

7. Be able to frequently work extended work hours (12 hour work shift) and work shifts including work on weekends.

8. Be able to frequently perform work tasks that require an individual to bend, twist, kneel, stand, walk, use hands, feel objects, reach with hands and arms, communicate verbally, and hear. Full Time Service Detailer

The House of Harley-Davidson is seeking a full-time (nights and weekends) experienced Detailer that will be working in a dynamic team environment. Come join the biggest, busiest dealership in Milwaukee!

Ideal applicant will have at least 2+ years of detailing experience. Applicant must have strong work ethic, attention to detail, demonstrate pride in their work and must be flexible as this position may require occasional weekend work and/or extended hours. Perfect attendance is expected as we are an extremely busy dealership with the need for quick turn-around times. Drug test and background check will be required upon hire.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ability to thoroughly clean, detail, buff, and polish a motorcycle at a high level of speed and accuracy
  • Ability to repair scratches/scuffs in painted parts as well as polish blemishes in chrome/aluminum
  • Ability to notice and bring attention to problems prior to motorcycle leaving the department
  • Occasionally assist in miscellaneous department tasks
  • Other job duties and tasks assigned by supervisor

Required experience:

  • Must have 2-5+ years experience as a detailer/porter (motorcycle specific a major plus)
  • Must have valid driver’s license with motorcycle endorsement
  •  Must have the ability to move and operate motorcycle safely.
  •  Pay based on experience

Service Shop Assistant

Main Roles/ Responsibilities:

Keep Department Orderly –

  • Keep department and surrounding areas clean and free of clutter.
  • Pick up and dispose of trash and cardboard
  • Store take-off / damage parts properly
  • Verify Motorcycles are located in the proper area of the department based on status

Help Maintain Productivity-

  • Assist in Oil Barrel/Brake Clean Change over
  • Remove discarded tires from shop and stack for pickup
  • Assist Technicians when requested and able
  • Wash Motorcycles after completed services
  • Assist in uncrating of new motorcycles
  • Deliver motorcycles to front of service when customers arrive for pick up
  • Cleaning Trucks/Trailers prior to events and heavy traffic
  • Deliver / Pick-up Motorcycles / Parts
  • Safe and reliable transport of ALL motorcycles.
  • Pick up of dealer-located parts

Dealership Assistance

  • Assist with setup and take down of equipment for events - may require lifting 75-100 lbs
  • Assist with seasonal outdoor projects/assignments
  • May be asked to perform other duties or tasks to support the dealership

Job Requirements:

MUST HAVE STRONG ATTENTION TO DETAIL!

Job will frequently require 8 or more hours on your feet.

The ability to move / ride motorcycles weighing in excess of 700 lbs.

Motorcycle endorsement is required.

Ability and desire to always deliver exceptional service, respect the Dealership and Customer equipment as if it was yours, work through challenges using the support of co-workers when necessary.

Full Time Parts Professional

House of Harley-Davidson®, Milwaukee’s premier Harley-Davidson® dealer, is seeking to immediately expand our world-class Parts and Accessories team. If you are knowledgeable about motorcycles and motorcycle accessories, we want to hear from you!

Required qualifications include motorcycle knowledge, ability to work various Saturdays and Sundays in a rotating schedule, ability to work all scheduled events, great communication skills and being a team player. Experience in a Harley-Davidson® environment is a plus. 

Job duties include set and maintenance of the retail environment, assisting all customers with purchases of Parts and Accessories (P&A), handling cash and credit card transactions for Parts and Accessories, assisting Parts and Accessories Manager in all inventory control related operations, assisting in the maintenance of inventory accuracy and control inventory related records and perform related duties as necessary.
